X5C-1 Modes

Probably flight modes. (mode 1 = stable, and mode 2 = manual maybe?)

You would be able to notice real quick if the flight characteristics change from one to the other.

My quad has a mode 1 and mode 2, can someone explain the difference between the two for me?

Could also mean this;

The modes are high and low.

On low the quad doesn't respond as aggressively, so if you push your right stick the right or left it'll bank but not hard, on high it will respond harder and quicker and its a lot more fun but things go wrong easier.

Its an easy quad to fly and you should be able to fly on high "H" after some practice, it always starts in low mode as default. Just hold down the left top button for a couple of seconds and then let go and press once, the beeps will tell you its worked and you should see the L has changed to H on the LCD

I believe in this instance GJH is correct. Mode 1 seems to be default as that's what I first used and stuck with it. I tried Mode 2 after some semblance of ability using Mode 1 and the I immediately drove the quad into the ceiling and whapped it against a wall. Pick one and go with it seems to be the way to go. Experiment when you first get it and stick with the one that feels most comfortable would probably be best. I'm not really as ambidextrous as I'd like to appear. Zec is correct too but is referring to the Speed Selection switch. Yea... I'm still stuck in low. :)

Mode 2 is what the vast majority of us use. Syma seems to be confused as to the terminology though.

This from the X5 manual.

That's actually Mode 2.

Pictured below is what I was assuming was the indicator of a set of flight inputs. I use the set pictured above by RG. But it is indicated as pictured. I'm probably misunderstanding something. My hover up/down and yaw are the left controller. Movements fore and aft and sidewards are on the right hand stick. I'm not familiar with anything other than the X5C-1 and new to the RC world. I hope this doesn't mean confusion down the road for me.... geesh! I'm just getting the hang of this mode :)

Hahaha I think they called it mode 1 so people would know it was default, but in the RC world that is mode 2, and what most people use xD

Ahhhh LOL Well now that I know.. I won't look quite so knobby when talking to someone new about the hobby and won't press the issue. :) The mode2 just seems so backward and as I said in another post... It was well... just bangin around... :)
