WLToys v929 issues

I bought a WLToys v929 for my dad for Christmas and at first everything seemed OK but not long in to playing with it all it will do now is spin in circle uncontrollably on the ground and even if we can get it in the air it just flips over. Any ideas? All rotors are spinning the proper direction. Perhaps a bad controller board on the unit itself?

Thank you for your reply. I has crashed hard a couple times and still flew fine. After running out of power on the battery we put another in and thats when the issues started. I have read it is supposed to be able to take a few hits as it's supposed to be a good beginners model. Is there any way to repair what has happened or do we need to buy another?

It might be worth pulling apart to make sure that everything is intact. If the control board with the gyros is not flat, it won't know the proper orientation, so it will send the wrong speeds to the motors. Otherwise, you may be able to contact the manufacturer and ask about replacement parts. They may know what went wrong.

OK thanks for the reply. We may pull it apart and see what is up. I had thought about the gyro but it doesnt seem to matter what surface it sits on. Thanks!

hi mate turn motors by hand they should move free and smooth , some times when you crash it messes up a motor but does not show up right away , if one motor is not running as well as the others it will spin , a quad needs 4 good motors to fly a hex can run if 2 motors are down , the quad has the min amout of motors to fly , i think the wltoy v929 has the coreless motors they dont like hard knocks even a hard landings on a hard floor knock them out so if it does work out to be motors fit sponge pads to bottom of feet so motors dont hit the floor..
UPDATE yes they have the coreless motors just looked at them, my money is on a motor gone down not pulling power so she spins
