Wireless HDMI transmitter and receiver. No kidding!

Check out the one star reviews for the failings :D

I'm sure it sort of works in limited scenarios if the environment/conditions are just right, but doing HD wireless transmission and getting any sort of range and consistency of signal isn't easy (especially with our quads and other mobile stuff at a distance). I think the reason this kind of product doesn't have a place now in terms of original concept is that chromecast and the firestick and roku all exist and allow you to get access to most streaming services that most people use without needing to necessarily have a full computer hooked up to a monitor and you can control them all remotely with your phone, tablet, or computer (to some degree on the last).

Also also, just throwing a few more out there since not things I was aware existed until a few years ago, you can get network over power lines where you get better than wireless transmission by sending data through your power lines in a house and having intelligent little decoders on the end that can filter out the data from the power noise. The opposite also exists with "PoE" or power over ethernet where regular network lines, I think CAT5E at least or CAT6 cables can carry like 15-30W per device depending on the spec (usually used to power phones or security cams, but with more advanced gadgets getting more efficient you could potentially power more devices off of that directly where running more substantial power is otherwise an issue)
