For my self it is a form of therapy,
I travel 99% for my job and I take my Phantom 2 Vision wherever I go. if possible.

I use it to decompress after a hard day at work.

Love the idea of being able to produce my own short videos and for basic surveillance if I ever needed too. My ultimate goal is to make nature videos with music sound tracks of my travels. Plus I like to fiddle with electronics and mechanical devices. I like things that are technical but not too technical, I also have my amateur radio license. This hobby fits me perfect, my only problem is finding enough time to persue it.
 
Checked out your web page Charles. Looks like were in the same trade. I operated a 60Mw CFB for 23 years but my initial experience is in gas turbines. I currently operate a 88.5 mmscfd steam methane reformer supplying Shell oil co with hydrogen.
 
Want to fly, and it offer another way to watch the daily world. Of course, a way to relax and have fun.
 
I have been in RC for ten years and have loved flying helicopters but the cost became to much so the Quad is a less expensive way for me to still enjoy the hobby and not having to worry if I have a mishap costing me anywhere from $100.00 to $300.00 for repairs of a 700 size which used to be a 90 nitro.
