Remind me not to go flying with you in a real airplane. Also, crashing only establishes that the pilot screwed up and not, necessarily, the aircraft.

The point is that pushing the envelope is part of the fun. Of most hobbies and endeavors.

If your into 4X4 and you don't get stuck you are not trying.

Crashing a drone is not a death wish. Never crashing a drone is like dying.

If you're going to crash... make it count. Don't simply hit a branch popping the motor cap off, losing the c-clip underneath. You will think its an easy fix to just replace the c-clip, but you will spend endless hours and multiple c-clips just trying to get one of those damn things on.

I still have nightmares of the repair...

Teddy Roosevelt never flew a quadcopter. Of course, airplanes didn't exist either. At the price of a Phantom Pro, I would think "pushing the envelope" would be avoided at all costs. Accidents do happen. Chuck Yeager pushed the envelope when he broke the speed of sound in the X-1. There were many accidents and fatalities by other highly qualified pilots just to reach that goal. Chuck Yeager did it but at what cost? With proven technology, crashing is more a pilot error than an aircraft fault. Pushing the envelope with a Phantom reaches what plateau where the aircraft cannot do more?

So, actually, Theodore Roosevelt was a 'former' president that flew in a Wright Flyer. Prior to 1908, powered flight did not exist. So, my observation is not entirely incorrect. Whether or not Roosevelt flew, the idea of pushing the envelope is really in question. Getting on a Wright Flyer was still gutsy, for anyone because it was unproven technology. I think, more over, flying a Wright Flyer was more dangerous to the aircraft because of foolhardy pilots making them do things they were not designed to do. A Phantom Pro on the other hand, is proven technology and only pilot fool hardiness would be witness to it crashing, because of putting a demand on the aircraft, beyond its ability to perform.

Let me make the following statement, one that isn't debatable, hard to challenge and has put many an argument to rest, "Whatever you say must be Gospel!"
 
Can you really push a DJI? I agree with both sides in certain scenarios. Example don't push your Bentley it's equivalent to the DJI, expensive, nice for what it's made for, not meant to race, then again if you get a muscle car or a speedy sports car (lambo, ferrari, porsche, model S) then not pushing it a bit is basically not using it. See it the same way with quads some risky flight with quads made to 'handle' it makes sense and in those case you have to accept a degree of risk of crashing/losing it for the thrill, but doesn't make sense to take risks for no reason.

First, this was a Phantom 3 Standard. Refurbished, So not your hi end DJI. Nobody bothered to check. Or ask. Which I have had for over a year.

Second, I rarely follow the rules or the norm. And the risk I took. Or was is Cockpit error? Was my choice. Yes, I drove a muscle car at 145 MPH on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. And a Porsche 911 much faster than that on the Autobahn. A lot of people may ostracize me for risking all that money. But again it was mine. Please no lectures on safety. Most of us have been there.

Third, think about how many people have crashed their hi end DJI. Costing $1000s. It is human nature to push the limits. Regardless of cost and sometimes life and limb.
