Well my sk450 arrived today! What do I need to know

the turnigy sk450 arrived today, it actually arrived before the batteries and charger! Looks like it's all fully built apart from the props! I assume I need to put them on a certain way, and how tight does the securing nut need to be? Being a plumber you can imagine I fit everything as tight as possible! The instructions are very basic so is there anything else I need to know before my maiden flight?

Thanks
Rich

Hi Rich , Do the prop nut up tight but dont strip it , make sure the props are on the right motors , front left cw, front right ccw, back left ccw, back right cw
When you fit the battery check the CG of the quad if its not balanced move the battery a little till it is , did you get a prop balancer if so balance props then fit them , let me know if you want a link to a prop balance video
Other than that bind receiver to transmitter , calibrate ESC , calibrate FCB the manual for the KK is on the hobby king site , try it see how you get on if your not happy how it flies , we can flash the KK with better firmware and it will fly much nicer

Well I managed to strip one of the smaller props while tightening them up! Fitted the bigger props and managed to get a short flight, found it was oscillating quite bad, had a feel at everything it all seemed tight so took her up again and she promptly flipped over and landed breaking a prop! So back to the Internet I go! Are they special props or do I just have to get the right size!

Thanks again

Rich

Ordered some but they are out of stock shame there aren't any on eBay! Managed to make the smaller ones work fo a short while and adjusted most of the oscillation out! And then crashed and broke another prop I'm gonna take a while to master this by lhe looks! Lol
Don't really understand how to change the firmware so would appreciate the help! Sorry about all the questions!

Hi Rich no problem mate when you ready it takes about a min to do , keep the quad in stable mode for now this should stop some of the crashes also go into stick scaling and reduce the numbers on aile/ elev this will slow the quad down a little for you

Cool thanks! What do I need to order to do the firmware change? While I'm waiting for stuff may as well sort it!

Rich

Right I have the relevant hardware and have watched the tutorials and feeling fairly brave so probably going to attempt the firmware change later today! Do I have to unplug everything off the board or can I do this in situ?

Thanks
Rich
