First off thanks for sharing was an interesting watch. Second literally any generic quad would be a better choice than dji here. Basically the target for dji is people who want a fancy camera in the sky and don't want to customize it at all or learn to fly really. This here is totally custom thing that just pushed the print head against the wall and slides itself in the x direction (right to left) using the power of the motors. The print head vertical movement appears to just be like any old plotter or inkjet most likely strapped to the front of it. The hard part here isn't the quad really it's the control and getting that print head part locked to the wall tight enough and the left right movements of the quad to happen without losing vertical stabilization/positioning. Optical flow lock would probably work well with a surface right in front of the quad to track or else ultrasound or other time of flight or distance sensors could be used to better lock the vertical position of the quad. So yah interesting think just any custom cheap rig would do for the quad but all about the custom sensors control and other mechanics to hold the print head to the wall.
