Video overwrite

Hi Guys. I am a photographer/videographer in the UK and new to drone flying, going through my training for CAA licence with Drone Pilot Academy. I have no problems with the DJI Phantom 3 Professional - its excellent. My issue is; yesterday I took some video which was recording as it should but could not use play back, screen was black. I continued filming and when I down loaded to iMac only the most recent footage was recorded. I done the same today with the same result, it seems the video is over writing the previous work. CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE. Cheers Joe, Cumbria UK.

I'm a videographer by trade. Depending on the camera you are using, some cameras, when you remove the SD card and put it back in, think you are starting over and thus records over what you originally have on the card. To be on the safe side, don't remove the card from the camera, but rather download from the camera via a USB cable and port. until you are finished. Also, on the safe side, always use a new SD card if you want to ensure retention of data on the old card. It's not, generally, a problem with most cameras. It may be just a problem with your camera.

Thank you for the reply LoneRCRanger. The camera is the fixed Phantom 3 Pro (about 6 months old). The card was not taken out and the two jobs were continuos . I filmed about 20 mins and moved on to another part of the job. I did use three batteries over the job. I was wondering if this could be a software issue.
