Hello everyone,

I'm starting a drone program at my school where kids can build and learn about drones and I'm hoping to get an idea of what I need to get a drone off the ground

I would like to start with something like this....

But what else do I need? Radio Controller and a Battery?

Thanks for all the help in advance

Yup since it says "BNF" that means "bind and fly" so should be able to get a compatible transmitter/controller and bind it to the receiver on the quad and be basically ready to use the quad. It needs batteries and typical to get a hobby lipo charger and fire safe bag with those. You can fly it line of sight but since it has a video transmitter you could use goggles or a ground station with analog video receiver to see what's happening and fly first person view (learning to fly line of sight for basic take off and landing is good idea and being able to maneuver in case the video feed dies/gets cut off from interference, but learning to fly fpv I think is a little easier). Since props on a 5" quad can be pretty dangerous and the things are pretty powerful in terms of kinetic energy for students I'd probably suggest check out smaller quads like 3" prop or around that size so less risk of damage and can still learn all the same principles and how to fly. If you want them to learn more about the building process and programming and protocols used between devices and all then getting kits (frame+flight controller+escs+motors+props) is probably better but it focused on physics or aerodynamics and stuff bind and fly is probably what you're looking for.
