Trying to decide which drone is best to buy?

I am looking at buying a drone, I am not sure which is best, the DJI phantom 3 seems to be good, and the Yuneec Q500+ seems to be very newbie friendly and has nice live stream video, which I really like, but only goes up 400' above ground. Any one have any ideas?

Build one! Then you don't have to follow all that pre-programmed bs. What exactly do you want to do with it? Photography? Fpv? Both? Do some research, as there's an abundance online and get a real clear picture of what your intentions are. Write it down if you have to. There's so many different quads/hexes/Octos out there(quads being the most popular) , and at so many different price ranges, that there's definitely a uav out there with you're name on it.

I was in the same position few month ago, only difference was my budget was limited to $100 haha. Back in November 2015 I bought Syma X8C because it was 1st or 2nd on this list of top drones for less than $100. Whatever, I crashed it after week or so.. :) :) I bought another one soon after that, gained some experience and now I'm here to buy some better drone.

Few minutes ago I have ordered Yuneec Typhoon q500+ from amazon, which me luck guys :)

Congrats on the purchase. The owner of our local hobby shop (yes, we still have hobby shops in Canada) has one on the shelf with my name on it. For some reason, the better half disagrees

I have Yuneec Q500+ 1 week now. Great machine for beginner to intermediate flyer. I received Horizon Glympse for Christmas 2015 and quickly mastered it wanting more. The Yuneec Q500+ has been a lot of fun. It gives you the safety of controlled "Smart" and "Home" mode to get you out of trouble and the ability to fly with GPS stability or turn off GPS and go full on pilot flying. Not as high end as some machines out today but Yuneec offers a Q500+ with box and 2 batteries for $699. Not a bad price to get into the higher end side of the quad copters.
