Transmitter for beginners

Not sure where to post this but since I'm still a newbie and know little I figure I can just post it here. I'm looking for a affordable transmitter that I can use with majority of drones. The goal is to eventually build my own or if that doesn't work out buy any bnf drone and still have the transmitter work for it. I need something affordable and doesn't require much upgrade later on. Sorry if this sounds confusing.

Hi mate there is no transmitter that will bind with all the different toy quads and if you build one as the protocol is different
As for the build your own any well known transmitter can be used as you just use the matching receiver and wire this to the fcb
Spektrum
Futaba
Tranis
If you want to keep the price down look for a good secondhand one this way you can get some thing like a DX18 for the price of a new DX9
Get the best with the most channels you can afford this way you will not need to keep upgrading the transmitter

So right now I have the blade inductrix fpv. I would like something that can bind to that and maybe others. I'm looking into the spektrum dx6i because of the price

The DX6i is DSM2/DSMX so yes, it'll work with the Inductrix. If you want to go cheaper, the OrangeRX T-6 is a DX6i clone but it only does DSM2

Hi the DX6i is a good basic transmitter they are very cheap right now as they were discontinued a while back , the newer ones have update able airware , and are more advanced in how you can program them , I just wonder if you can save a little more and look at a DX8 second hand

Alright so a little update. Was just at one of the hobby store near me and the guy was talking to me about the dx6i and dx6. He recommended the dx6 but the dx6i had a better price so I was leaning towards that. After leaving that shop I went to another. Again the guy there recommended the dx6. They had one that was opened and was selling for $150. So I bought it. Now after looking online was there 2 different models of the dx6?

The better one , your love it so easy to set up and assign a switch to a job , it has voice so it can tell you what switch you just activated , and the timer will count down in voice so no need to look down at the transmitter , telemetry read outs all in voice , its just like my DX9 just with 6 channels not 9 I think it has wireless buddy box too
well done you got your self a nice transmitter

No its DX6 then DX6e then DX6i
DX6 is the newest with the lower spec DX6e that has just come out and then the very old DX6i

HI mate every nice transmitter but the OP has a eflite quad so needed a spektrum transmitter , and He got the DX6 but didnt know they have a DX6e as well

Thanks for all the suggestions. Yea I have the dx6 now and what a difference it made. My flights are 10x smoother. Now I'm looking at getting the eachine wizard. Would I just need to hook up my reciever to the drone? Does anyone have any info on flying eachine drones with spektrum?

I have a T8FB myself, It's a decent transmitter 8Channels + S-Bus.

Wow! Now that's the one I'll need! It's well inside my price range too! $49.90.
They have the receiver, software and a manual with it! I can mount my FPV monitor on that too.
This is getting me all excited! LOL! Now I just have to buy and build a big boy multirotor.

Sorry for butting in on the thread :)
