Hi all!

Bought a quad 2 weeks ago after seeing my neighbours mavic pro. Got really hooked and wanted to try it out. Found myself a Syma x5uw. I know camera was crap, but actually a bit worse thani thought :P (but flying is so much fun)

Now to my question, i googled a bit and found a lot of cameras with the conection Syma has between camera and body. but today i opened up camera and found some boards and stuff. Does it need to be there, or can i replace with an e-bay camera with same connections.

Sorry if it´s a bit unclear, but i am really new to this.

Best regards.

/Torsten

You probably could, most them little cameras run 3.7v. But it's how they operate. Getting it working in the air.
Like taking photo or switch to video. Is it 5.8ghz or is that RF antenna just for control. If not I think it would be better getting something like a SQ8 dvr. Just take stills from video. If it's proper pictures & video you want then learn to fly & then apply a better cam when you don't crash as much. Let's face it I got potatoes that record better than them cameras.
Just had a quick look. 8min flight time,
100min charge. Built in battery..
It's not worth the hassle. Its gonna get blown to Oz. Even something like a Mavic has a bit of weight. Which can add a certain amount of stability in light winds.
The camera ain't on a gimbal so with all the correction in winds, it's going to be jerky. It says fpv real-time but no mention of an app. So it's just jerky flight video. :(

Haha. I know all of above and Will probobly get a decent Stone in some time. But it's a toy to learn the basics with and My regent crashes shows me it's sturdy att least... Thought of trying to get a new camera to get a way into modding and playing around . But will probobly endast Up with something in the 500$ Rangers after all...
