Hi guys

Just wondering I don't seem to have come across a specific topic yet containing links to various software versions and or links to sites selling various items such as the usbasp programmer, if i've missed it i apologise but if not could a sticky topic be created where all this stuff is located so its all in one place and remains at the top so its easily found? i used to run a car forum years ago and we had stuff like this so it was easy to find and point people towards

just asking - again if i've missed it i apologise -

ps the site is awesome

It doesn't exist here yet. I started a big list of resources about 11 months back and never got around to finishing it because some tragedy struck my family and I soon found out that aside from the emotional stuff, there are a hell of a lot of things that need to be dealt with after an important family member passes. That and my work schedule has been busier than usual this year. My schedule is starting to get back to normal though, so I'll have more time to focus on adding useful stuff, not just maintaining the forum. I'm going to try to get what I have posted here over the holiday or first thing in the new year.

My list was more of an overall informational resources list and some general places to buy stuff though. Since this hobby spreads across so many countries and because so many people sell different products for RC in different places, it will be hard to maintain something too specific. With that said, if anyone else wants to make a comprehensive list, I'd be glad to sticky it or even combine lists to create a one stop shop for info - and everyone can kind of help point out any dead links or updates if they notice them.

Sorry for your loss i didnt mean to cause any offence i was just making an observation based on my own experiences with the car club where we had stickies done for topics that came up constantly and "how to's" for basic maintenance etc guiding people thru stuff that you guys could do blindfolded at this stage but for us newcomers thers a steep learning curve

Again i apologise if i caused any offence none was intended

Oh, no offense taken at all!! Sorry if it came off that way. =) I know you didn't mean any offense by it. I just feel kind of bad because I've been promising and/or working on this type of stuff for a while and haven't completed or posted it yet. There is a ton of stuff that comes up a lot and I've been taking notes and working on various guides to make sure there is good info stickied. I have several documents in Google docs that are 3/4 done. I am going to try to force myself to complete them and get them up here ASAP.

Even videos from youtube that deal with a specific issue like binding transmitter or balancing rotors etc its only a link but once stickied its there for future reference

Case in point i went looking for info on flashing simonk firmware, i dont even have my quad yet i ordered the usb programmer today but when i actually went looking for the drivers and firmware i got lost on the other sites and wasnt sure what to download so a direct link to the software would be great

Are you looking to flash your ESCs with simonK? Which ESCs did you get? It used to be necessary to flash, but at this point, there are so many pre-flashed simonK ESCs out there that there's really no point in going through the hassle.

It was the controller itself i was going to flash its a turnigy sk450 i bought but from reading various posts on here it recommended upgrading firmware

Oh, no - SimonK firmware is for the electronic speed controllers (ESC). KK2.0 is the flight control board. You likely want to flash that with new firmware, but it depends. Did you buy the board separately, or a kit or ready to fly quad? Sometimes when people put together kits, they'll put the latest and greatest firmware on there already. Do you have a link to the specific board or copter you got?

Hi mate to butt in if its the kk2.0 thats the old one with LCD screen when you power it up for the first 2 second it displays the firmware you really need 1.6 , if you get stuck at any time give me a shout

Can mine simply be upgraded by firmware or do i physically need a newer version ?

Hi mate all FCB are just firmware upgrade able , so the kk2.0 is still a kk2.0 but can be on any firmware up to 1.6 , if you want the new upgraded kk then your need to buy the kk2.1.5 and then update the firmware on that ,what makes it better is its chip set on the board , and the better firmware that works the chip set
