Hey folks,

We run a site called Comparaboo, where we use data analytics to create lists of the best products in tons of categories around the web.

I've been working on our quadcopter list, and came across this forum in my research. Since you guys know way more than I do about the topic, I thought it would be a good chance to see what you think about our list. It's update automatically, so the order of the list may change from day to day or even visit to visit, but the ones in the top 10 don't typically come or go all that often.

So... what do you think? Does it reflect a good selection of quadcopters for people that aren't yet familiar with the hobby? The idea is to create a list for people who haven't researched quadcopters yet. With that in mind, would you send the list to an interested 'newbie' friend who was asking for suggestions? What might you change about the list? Any suggestions to make it more useful?

We're going to have a buying guide up on that page soon which obviously you don't need, but I'd love any thoughts on that as well once it's up. We're trying to build a site with quality recommendations that people can trust, and I figure you're the experts to ask to make sure we're doing that in this category.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts, and I hope this isn't considered off-topic.

HI mate you need a RTF section which you have but a lot of us build our own, so a list of frames in size class , motors ,ESC, FCB for your info DJI phantom is one of the best sellers but they also do kits like the flame wheel , but then you can buy there FCB with GPS to fit any quad, one of the best motors are T motors but at a price , so lots of us use sunnysky ,emax, agm, etc
It will be a hard list to set up as there are so many different parts out there to make a ( multi-rotor) best to call them this as they dont all have 4 motors you can have 6 or 8 or like in this video , good luck on the list we all will put something in to it

Of those on your list, I've flown the Hubsan X4 (I and my son each have one), the Blade Nano QX (two friends have them), and the Estes Proto-X (three friends have them). I would rank the Proto-X the lowest of the three. It's only real problem is that it's just too tiny. My Hubsan X4 H017L could carry it (I have the video to prove it!). You can't fly it outdoors because the slightest breeze carries it away. Props come off easy and when they do, they're gone. They're too small to find. The battery is built in so you can't swap out a freshly charged battery. It's so tiny, if you fly it 10ft away from you, you can't see it anymore!

I find the Hubsan X4 and Blade Nano to be about the right size for a "micro" quad. Each of them have their pros and cons, but I think they balance out pretty evenly. I would rank them very close together with the edge going to either one or the other depending on my mood at the time!

Thanks so much for the feedback folks. I'll take it back to our team and see what adjustments can be made. Maybe we can have separate RTF and kit lists.... In the meantime, if anyone else has additional thoughts or suggestions let me know!
