Technical difficulties w/ OpenPilot

Note: The openpilot forums were not working so I couldn't post there.

I just finished building my Quad Copter (using this guide) and was calibrating my remote and flight control board via openpilot gcs. I have tried over and over to calibrate my radio (Turnigy 9X), but the pitch trim won't work. I am using heli mode.

Here is my electronics list:
ESC
motor
Flight control board
Battery

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Are these parts compatible?
When I try to calibrate the ESC's, I do not hear three beeps like the ones in the video. Nor do I hear two low notes and two high notes.

PLEASE HELP!

Hello, From my understanding, all multi rotors work on the plane mode of the transmitter and not the heli mode. I did notice in the video on the page you linked to, the instructor said ailerons. If he said ailerons he must have his controller in the airplane mode. Helicopters do not have ailerons.

Thanks for the help! I have tried airplane mode, and ran into multiple technical difficulties. First, the flight control switch will not calibrate on the radio setup wizard (i.e., the switch moves on the screen, but when I toggle the switch, nothing happens). Second, after you finish calibrating your controls (the flight switch which, as previously mentioned, I cannot calibrate) the software program displays the radio controls but when I move the sticks nothing happens. Any suggestions??? I'm at the end of my rope . . . . Maybe a defective radio control or flight control board?
