Hi all.
Thanks in advance to anyone offering advice.
I am trying to fix my sons x8g. 1 of the props is not spinning, I have replaced the motor but it is still lot working.
He has only flown it the once we were still at the trimming stage. Had a small crash as the wind blew it in to a bush before we had finished trimming it. Now we have this problem.
Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

Do you have an electrical tester like a multimeter? Could be a low battery preventing it from arming. This could be as simple as charging it to getting a new charger to replacing the battery. Or there could be some type of damage to the power system of the quadcopter itself,

I have done a bit more work on it now.
I have taken the non running motor and connected it in one of the other arms. It works fine.
I have also Now noticed that when all connected up as it should be not only does this motor not run at all but when I push the throttle to power them up they won't stay running, but when the problem motor is disconnected the other three run fine. I push the throttle and they stay running at which ever power level the stick is at. But all four connected and the power is only on for a split second.
I'm guessing I'm going to need a new receiver board.

If I understand this right you might have a problem with one motor where it has a short across the coils or more likely the wires going into the coils, when powering it up it would consume all of the power the battery has to offer.

Hi http://quadcopterforum.com/members/gjh105775.
When I connect the motor to a different arm it runs fine so it's not the motor.
I guess the problem is with the wireing to the motor of on the board itself.
