Syma X8C

I just bought this brand new. And the flight controls are inverted.

The drone spins fine left and right.

The right stick is completely inverted. Moving stick forward makes drone fly back. Moving stick back makes drone fly forward. The drone also is opposite on left and right straffing.

New Out of the box and I have been unable to enjoy this. Because of this issue.

Check the instructions it came with...there is a way to switch to mode 2 instead of mode one...
mode two is easier to fly...It will be something like ..hold down the speed control button when you turn it on...and wait for two beeps...or something like that...are we talking about a Syma X8?

Syma x8, yes. And I tried changing the modes , still Flies with inverted controls.

Does anybody have any solutions, I read the manual 250 times

Dang...I have NOT heard of one "stuck" in the wrong mode........possibly remove the batteries......try again...if no luck you may have a defective TX.....When my dad received his...it would not bind at all I opened the Tx to find the ant. leads were inadvertently soldered together,.... effectively grounding out the Ant..and making it not work...I fixed his.........maybe yours is bad?...if no luck...contact seller for exchange.
other than that...there are NO secrets to these Tx's

It is so strange that no matter what mode I'm in , it Flys opposite. I've built rc trucks and have seen a similar issue when crossing the power cable wires to the motor.

But I think I'm screwed and will have to return it

You have any channels reversed on your Tx?

That is a very real possibility...does someone you know have an X8? possibly try their Tx and see if the copter responds properly, that will tell you if it is the Tx or the bird, this is how I determined the problem with my Dads, his would fly with my Tx but not even bind with his, till I fixed it....the seller may be able to offer a solution either with a new Tx or swap the complete kit...sorry but I don't see another fix...Unless you are in Vancouver WA then we could meet and try to solve this.

And suggestions on how to determine the problem?? I am an engineer, and a Computer specialist, with circuit board repair background...I do not even know where to start, to coach you, on how to diagnose, .....other than what I have spoken about....circuits are something you know...or don't....
but repair is best left to those trained in such....come to my house...I will fix ya......lol.
but seriously....contact your seller.

These things happen...out of all the X8's I know of...yours is the first to have this issue, most have had only minor motor issues....or Tx range issues..( of which you need to address after you get the new one)......YouTube videos will aid you in modding the Tx ant. very simple.......It is a very good machine...and I ONLY have 12 copters...and this is the greatest one...although I do have a DJI Phantom III at my disposal, and they cannot be beat..for 1500 bucks....
but I prefer the X8 to have fun, and NOT be nervous about the money.....lol
get with the seller..get a new bird...

BTW....you can get me on my private email...at ...twrig3846@gmail.com............
I have cam and mike so we could teleconference about repairs or Tx mod, when the time comes....
don't know where you are...so timing is key...I am in WA state...and work day shift...so just feel free to get ahold of me.....

I don't know how to discover or even do that, can u provide some specific instructions on how to determine that. I'm assuming the TX is the transmitter. I'm not a drone nerd yet haha.
@GJH105775
Haha, sorry about that, Tx means transmitter, Rx means receiver. Terms are mostly used in IT, engineering, or in hobby electronics.

If you can exchange it and be done that would be your best option.

Should I try resetting it when it is facing the correct direction

. BTW what is headless mode, when should I use it , and why should I use it. How does it benefit versus high /slow mode.

I'd strongly suggest against using headless. It makes your right stick control the quad relative to the position it was when you armed it.

Basically if you arm it (facing the same direction as you are) and take off, then yaw left (turn left) so that the quadcopter is facing left and you are still facing forward. If you press the right stick forward instead of the quadcopter going forward relative to it (your left) it will go to it's right (your forward).

This becomes a crutch to the point where you don't learn to keep your orientation.

for heavens sake...the direction you place it upon powering up and binding is KEY...........
ALWAYS....... place the X8 facing AWAY from you........ALWAYS.....when binding do it this way...
probably NOTHING wrong with your Tx....face it away...then forwards is away and back is back...left is left..and so on....do not play with headless mode until you get the hang of normal controls..unless you have a coach on hand....learn properly first...cheat later.
