Syma X5C transmitter problem

just finished extending the short 3 cm antenna to 12.5 cm. But when it's turned back on the transmitter light turns on then off and the tone makes a steady tone.

I'm wondering if the heat from soldering could have caused this problem.

That should work, those Symas don't even use the ground lug.

The only thing I can suggest is you open it up and carefully inspect your work, making sure the original wire is still connected, and make sure you reassembled it properly.

Thanks, as a follow up, I unsoldered the short piece, and re soldered another length 12.5cm re inspected my soldering, looked for bad solder etc, removed board etc.... Reassembled with same result. So I'm convinced I've somehow damaged the board. I've ordered another transmitter.
