Hi,

I've recently been working on an app for Android as a little project and thought it might be of interest to some people.

It should work with all Syma drones that use the Syma FPV app. The app renders the image at the same rate as the stock syma fpv app, any latency should be dependent on the drone you are using.

Let me know what you think any any improvements you would like. If there is enough interest, I can release an iOS version.
 
Thanks for creating this app. The only catch I have now is getting it to work with my Galaxy Gear VR. The moment the phone is inserted, it goes to login to the VR software.
 
There is an app in google play that will stop gear vr from auto launching. Its $1.50 i think. I havent tried it but iv been told that it works well. Its called play cardboard apps on gear vr. Hope this helps.

Hi James,

As Tater mentioned, until Samsung allows Google cardboard apps to be played through Gear VR, a separate app is required to stop the Gear app from auto launching.

I will however have a look into whether there is a workaround I can implement.

Hi mate, thanks for your nice app. It works for my Syma X5HW but it doesn't for my X8HW. Can you modify it some more?
 
This looks great, thank you. I got it working by disabling the Oculus, however the screen is split vertically where as all my other VR apps put the two screens horizontally. Am I missing something?
