stupid question (cleanflight betaflight)

Sup bros, yeah it's me again asking stupid questions.

I'm trying to figure out what's up with downloading the flight code onto these little flight machines we call drones (quadcopters)

My qx90 has cleanflight 1.2.4 on it but I was thinking about upgrading it to the more modern cleanflight 2. whatever the app is telling me it needs.

Is this a good idea?

Can this fcb be upgraded to betaflight?

Can a crappy laptop like a samsung chromebook handle these kinds of operations, or do I need to upgrade my laptop too?

These kind of questions are not readily available on any forums that I know of so I'm asking my favorite group of very intelligent experts.

What board does it have in it ?
I know somthing like a Piko or the older micro betaflight boards only run on certain firmware. But generally produce boards with the latest compatibility like 3.2 & 3.3.fairly quickly. I don't use cleanflight anymore as they where slow bringing the standalone program out.
Or have they ? I don't know.

It flies well and I don't really want to upgrade the firmware. However I know my qx90 is capable of doing flips but I have to be able to change some of the settings. When I hook up to the cleanflight app it tells me I need to upgrade.
