Stuck in a tree, finally recovered

Have a Hubsan X4 FPV brushless that I took out on a day that was too windy and it got stuck in a big tree. Finally came down today after a few weeks (and rainstorms). The body and propellers seem to be in good shape (no obvious breaks) but the battery isn't charging.

Just wondering how weatherproof this thing is and whether it is even worth it to spend $30 for a new battery if the board is shot from weather exposure. Don't know if the motors will still work, either.

Any ideas or suggestions? Not sure I want to go through the process of trying one thing, then the next, and the next while spending $$$ each time, but there's probably no other way.

Once a lipo is drained, it's damaged beyond repair.They're a little cheaper than $30, so I'd get some and chances are it will be OK. If not, I would go any further. Get a new one and good thing is you've already got some spare batteries.

If I were you I would just get a new drone...Rain water can be very harmful to electric circuits.

I certainly wouldn't toss it without trying it first. I've heard of lots of people who drop their quad into a pond or big puddle, dry them out overnight and they're just fine.

In normal flying the quad tends to drop out of the sky when flying voltage gets too low. You pull the battery and recharge it. With stranded quads like yours there are usually some flashing lights that will slowly but surely totally drain the the battery and ruin it. I too would recommend getting a new battery.

Got a new battery, charged it up, connected to the drone and - YES!!! It powers on and calibrates, and I can start the motors. However, it is super windy today (15-25 mpg) so I won't be taking it outside just yet!

Don't forget to put a drop of light oil on the motors. Happy flying

Same thing here. Treed a JJRC H31 about two weeks ago and it finally came down the other day in the high winds. Battery is toast but this little quad runs like a top (thanks to extras lipos on hand) . Usually check the props carefully and add the mentioned light drop of oil to the motors. All is well.
