SK450 KK2 ANY IDEAS?

Hi,

I am currently running a SK450, quadcopter with a KK2, running Steveis 1.8, ESC: 30 amp afro running SimonK.

I have two battery's which both run completely differently.

The 2s,3700 mah zippy battery runs really smoothly and is great to fly this quad.

However, when I change to a 3s, 2700 mah zippy, its a nightmare.

On a fully charged battery it jumps round all over the place and keeps surging, which sends it flying upwards and when I try and compensate for it, it comes crashing down to the ground.

It seems like the motors keep surging? I have checked and the motors and escs are compatible for 2s - 4s batteries. Any ideas?

FYI, after a while when the battery calms down discharges a little bit it runs better.
Is this normal?

Thanks for advice.

Hi Dave I never have had a 450 on a 2 cell its a bit under power, 3 cell yes all the time ,it sounds like you have a gain to high with the 3 cell your get more punch and a little extra weight , A quick question you dont have a rachet on the throttle do you ? , what you need to do is stick to 3 cell or 4 cell and tune the quad , that will fix the problem , also make sure the max throttle is 90% NO higher ,

OK, that seems to make sense. I've got two 2s lipos and a connector to I'll connect them in a series and make it a 4s.

Not sure what a rachet is, but I'll be able to alter the throttle stick on the kk2 board.

Thanks again.

Hi Dave on some transmitter when you get them they have a ratchet on the throttle stick , so the throttle will click one notch at a time , if you have this remove it, this will make the quad harder to fly

Hi Dave this will help a lot quads fly like a CP heli so a smooth throttle is needed , try after you do this it may fix it so you dont need to tune it
