Sk450 Dead cat.

yea i did i might give them the benefit of the doubt and will give them a few more days if nothing by wednesday then open dispute with paypal.

I spoke to them this morning and they tell me the items are on there way from China due to there being no stock in the uk he assures that i will have them by Saturday the 20th and they will refund my postage costs once i receive the order personally i will be pleasantly surprised if they turn up as previous experience with buying stuff from China is not the quickest and sometimes wonder weather they use a junk to get them here haha

Hi mate how was your Christmas, it went to quick for me, I received the motors props etc from AGMHobby 2 days before Christmas then found the ESC was faulty, in process of sending it back but got 4x 30a esc's cheap off Ebay, now i have a few Questions i hope you might be able to help me with.
The motors being larger pancake size means i can only use 2 screws to secure them on the Sk450 Deadcat are there adaptors on the market to make them fit the smaller diameter of the sk450 as the motor mounts it comes with wont fit?
also what is the minimum gap between props? i have 11" on at the minute with just under 1 and a half inch gap between them but Ecalc say that 12" would be better with my motor battery setup that would leave just under half an inch gap??
Cheers
John

Hi John Glad to hear from you , thanks xmas was good but goes to fast , its hard to mount motors at times , Go to a diy shop buy a flat thin alloy plate mount this to the arm then mount motor to this , you may need longer screws as 2 may need to got through the arm and plate at same time , As for min gap i had a quad that had 1 inch between props never had a problem , i have seen one were motors are at different heights so props can over lap ,this look as it was flying ok , i think your have no problem with half inch gap  if i remember right i have seen on ebay plates that go on the arms of the 450 and the motors mount to the end of these and that takes motors out by about 2 inches which i am sure you can make with basic tools , found them this is what you need or make your own to fit the motors you have

Had a look at those arm extension, will see how it goes with smaller gap for now it may be ok and i have spent enough so far lol birthday in March so hopefully the other half will buy me a Tarot Iron man frame the motors will go on that then if i am good.

I have to get some plastic paint for the storage boxes so it looks better, Just need the good weather now.

Hi mate why dont you later get a receiver for the small quad so it will work on same transmitter as the beasty

Hi Neil,
Had some fun last weekend at my parents, They have fields all around them so thought it would be ideal to learn to fly, anyway like i said it was good although the deadcat kept on wanting to veer off to one side and fly away from me not sure what the problem is, when i go into receiver test everything is set to zero.
Anyway have a near miss the other night, decided to fire it up in the living room with just the props ticking over all of a sudden it went nuts and me like an idiot decided to put my hand out to stop it haha not a good idea with carbon fibre blades anyway for anyone reading this please remove props before mucking about with your Quadcopter because it hurts when those blades tear into your skin i am just feeling lucky that i didn't lose any fingers.

Hi John , omg you was lucky these can do some real damage , Do you remember me saying that the dead cats flys strange due to the motors not being in the same place in space as it has 2 longer legs , you need to go into the PI editor and tell the board where the motors are it will fly nicely after i will link the video its for the kk 2.0 but still works on the kk2.1.5 after you do this re-trim the quad in a hover and it will sort your problem
I would do a rebind on the receiver to reset fail safe so make sure when you bind it cyclic is in the centre and throttle is zero

Hi mate hows it going? bit of an update for ya, I have crashed again no matter what i do they fly erratic, I went out with a mate last weekend and i tried flying both my quads they have plenty of go in them but they just dont want to hover without flying either away or to one side, My mate has never flown anything before and dropped his Phantom that he just bought and off he went flying it around like he had been doing it for years lol.
You can imagine i was pi**ed off so i went home and bought a Phantom, I am going to sell the Deadcat but keep the F450 and try to get to grips with it.

I do have a question though, I have a Phantom with 5.8ghz controller, and my Fatshark Teleporter is also 5.8ghz now i know this will not be compatible with the Phantom but do you know if there is a way of changing the receiver and transmitter on the fatshark ??
Cheers

Hi mate not sure if you can , tell you what ask Bruce on rcmodelreviews he has been testing fatshark and skyzone etc so he willknow what will work better for you , I would not like to give you wrong info
