Shooting....a sad state of affairs.

You have idiots in any group. It is unfair to make generalizations about a group based on the actions of one or a few individuals. I'm speaking as a "Bad Hombre", who was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. when I was a baby, grew up and got an education here in the U.S....

I don't think anyone is making generalizations here. Kent A was being funny. :p And Horny is a medical condition hahahaha

Punching paper is a very relaxing past time. Some people don't get that. The concentration required to be competent and even good takes discipline. Both physical and mental.
Have fun!

Indeed. I don't shoot anymore, but in my 20's and 30's my friends and I were partially responsible for driving up the price of 9mm ammo. Good times.

You are so right!

She uses a Ruger .22 cal. Mark II Semi-Automatic Target Pistol. (Bang.)

I use a Ruger .45 cal. Blackhawk Single-Action Revolver.
(Boom!)

Nice!

I used to have the .22 in a non target version. Great little plinker.
Also had a few other Ruger products, never a single action. Maybe time, HEY QUICsKDRAW:)

One of my ex wives, was an excellent shot with a hand gun. She graduated from a hi-standard 22 revolver to a Smith and Wesson .357. I tried not to piss her off much hahaa

So your the guy! ;)

I actually was always a fan of the oddball and less popular. I had several pistols in 38 Super. And I used to ReLoad, which made me dangerous at the range. I always subscribed to more is better ha!

Haha. Nice, my friend that got me into shooting had a huge gun collection and was also a reloader. When we went to the range, I'm sure people thought he was an arms dealer, but we had a lot of fun shooting all sorts of things.

I never got into reloading, but it was fascinating learning and watching him do it. I was in charge of handing him things and making sure the beer was cold for when we were done.

Shooting & reloading is popular in my home too. We had a scoped "Chipmunk" 22 that was passed down to each kid. A favorite game was to compete with dad & his pistol to see who could pop the most balloons. About the only shooting I do anymore is when they come for a visit as target practice is usually on their vacation with grandpa agenda.

I reload for only .45 Long Colt. The Ruger Blackhawk is so strong that Magnum loads are permitted.

I settled on 9.0 grains of Unique over a 200 grain semi-wadcutter...this gives me about 1000 FPS and 444 FPE.

That is what GrandPa is for, fun stuff.

Looks like you have it all! I sold everything years ago. I still have some dies left. The 38 super, go figure haha. And maybe a .223 or something. Have to go check the junk box.

Yeah, I always did like the looks of the Ruger Single action. And they were reasonably priced for a excellent product.

Enjoy and have fun!

May all your groups be small

I agree with the love for single action Rugers. My .44 mag. was by far the most accurate handgun I ever owned. Although the owner's manual warned against disconnecting one of the two springs inside the handle, I read that as a hint & discovered an ideal trigger pull.
