Servo Setup

Hello,

Just wondering if someone can help me out. I have a Hobbywing Xrotor F4 G2 flight controller with the 45a 4 in 1 esc board. My transmitter is a Taranis Q X7. I am trying to connect a servo to this setup. I think I did everything correctly in Betaflight, when I go to the motor page, I can use servo 1 with the switch on the taranis as planned. I can see the bars go up and down. My question is the phyiscal connection for the servo, where does it go? My receiver is a Frsky XSR, I don't see anywhere I can connect it there. I remapped the Led Strip to be servo 1 using the CLI in betaflight, the 5v and gnd are connected on the FC. The servo is a Horizon Hobby 1.9 gram servo. The servo never moves even though beta says it should be. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Unfortunately this receiver doesn't support PWM. Easiest solution is to use a PWM receiver as your FC supports PWM. Best solution is probably to use PWM out on your FC. So the flight controller should be connected to your reciever through CPPM or S-BUS. Map that channel to control a servo you've setup in cleanflight, then connect that servo to the port you would use for motor 5.

Hope this helps.

There's a ribbon cable that connects to the 4 in 1 esc. I have 4 motors connected and there's nothing free. I read that you could remap the led strip to another function, it works when i check the resource list but the servo doesnt move. I am using sbus.

I don't have that device but it looks promising. I have a frsky xsr receiver connected with sbus to the fc. So could i use that that decoder to somehow add servos? Where would I plug the pins in?

So i guess i'm looking at a new receiver. It didn't say any way to connect it to the fc directly. New hardware either way i think. Ok thanks.

Hi guys.

I got a frsky x4rsb receiver, so i understand i have 3 pwm outputs now. I plugged a servo in channel 2. I am unsure of how to setup betaflight. I enabled channel forwarding. i have aux2 setup with a switch on the transmitter. My question is what else needs to get done?

Thanks

I finally figured it out. Had to rebind the receiver so channels 9,10, 11 were pwm outputs instead of the default 1,2,3 channels which conflicted with the quad controls.

This thread can be closed. Thanks.
