Hi everyone just a warning scammers are now jumping on to forums like this to rip members off , I just got scammed my self not on this site but another site I use for my other hobby , how the scam works is they join the forum asking questions to get there post count up then they offer an item for sale in my case was a solar continuum filter used in a solar telescope saying a family member has this item for sale and to email this address this now is private no one knows your buying anything just you and the scammer so you close the deal and send money then say they have not received it and ask for a screenshot of your PayPal account , Don't ever send it your money has gone by now into a different account so PayPal can't get the hands on it
So to do this safely if your selling or buying keep it public do your deal on the thread once deal is done the you can PM the seller with payment details , we can watch each other's backs if you think it's not right say so or tell a Moderator so we can check it out

I hope everybody is well and safe from this virus life will get back to normal but may be a while ... Look out for the scammers

On this forum, I have been a champion for keeping it purely for the quadcopter genre receiving good information about their interests. Any post I see that engenders to promote the purchase of anything is out of context with the original concept of having the forum. I report it as unacceptable content. It is also up to our honest and forthright members to police this forum, not taking advantage of the fact that there are thousands of like minded hobby enthusiasts that use this forum to better their understanding of quadcopters and their functions. The scammers need to know this!

Scammers often use viral URLs to steal your information, defraud your key information, and complete their scams to make you suffer. So be careful.

Well that went over my head lol he kept asking for screen print which I won't give him , I reported him to action fraud uk and PayPal now we will see if I can recover money but won't hold my breath
The cheek of the guy sent me email saying as I won't send screenshot he will void the transaction I asked about the money and he went what money your a scammer

DON'T SEND ANY MONEY

A simple rule would be "Don't buy anything off of this or any other forum, unless you are absolutely sure that it is legitimate".

I got a reply to my recent ad. After a couple of ludicrous emails I marked him down as a SCAMMER. Make a long story short. Family member had an accident. The check that is going to me includes money for the DOCTOR. Yada yada yada. I should cash it and return the balance to the DOCTOR,
