So i'm at a crossroads with my Drone career if you will, where I've bought the little hubsan, and instead of being discouraged I quickly found myself enjoying it way too much, I look foreward to sun down when I can go out and fly around my local park and really get a tilt on her. (darker so i can see the LEDS as its line of sight obviously)
So now I know for a fact that this is what I want to do.
So I asked myself what kind of drone do I want? Knowing that I have no interest in the crazy DJ phantom style drones, and I wont be hooking anything up to it other than maybe a gopro if anything I know I want a Racing drone. Seems to me, the most middle of road racing model is a 250, and seems to be the industry standard for the racing, which I aim to be good enough to compete should I be able to find a local race.
SO my dilema is, I need Goggles and Transmitter, and the most common things I see amongst the masses are fatshark goggles and a FR Sky Taranis transmitter (though I dont know which one). I know I can go other directions on this, but the FPV part of the flying is the most important to me so I'd like to stick with what the "pros" use so to speak.
So knowing that I need to know what kind of parts I need to construct a very entry level, not cheap and crappy, but not fancy and super expensive 250 quad.
Either that or buy a RTF model, none of which i've really heard any praises about unless you're looking to spend 600$ on the drone itself. I figure building one wouldnt be too big a deal, i've watched the videos and so long as I have all the parts I need (including the connectors for power cords and the things that are RARELY on the build list) I should be able to solder this thing together, I'm no dummy.
But I see alot of posts around here about how this isnt compatible with this and that, and knowing I know NOTHING about the parts available, the parts compatible or anything like that, I was wondering if someone has or could put together an up to date listing of parts including the connectors, risers, misc screws etc.
Something that newbs can look at and trust that everything will work, not have to spread purchase orders across 6 different sites, and just get to building when it all comes in. All the lists i've seen are outdated, the links to the sites sometimes dont work, and some tell you the components but nothing else behind the scenes, like the connectors you need to solder onto the naze board or the nylon hardware for mounting flight controllers and the like.
I feel like I just want to buy an RTF model, but I dont want to spend that kind of money on something i'm just gonna feel like I need to replace. When I do get a drone going I want something that has some decent speed, but most important, I want and FPV setup that is as good as i can get. I've seen some footage of what the goggles are showing and sometimes its pretty bad. black and white, full of static. I dont want to buy the wrong stuff and end up with something unuseable.
