I have Turnigy D2826/10 1400KV motors. Can I use them on a S500 Frame?

John.

Thank you hotneil. I'm a little confused as to the size and power of the motors. Are 650kv to 850kv more powerful 1200kv?Hi John the kv is a bit high for a large frame you would normally look at 650kv to 800kv as you need to run bigger prop to get flight times , the motors you have run 7 inch props , your find it hard to get the lift ,
your need to run a 5200mah battery on that size quad even then your flight times will be very short
If possible could you suggest a suitable motor for this frame?Hi John the kv is a bit high for a large frame you would normally look at 650kv to 800kv as you need to run bigger prop to get flight times , the motors you have run 7 inch props , your find it hard to get the lift ,

A truly beautiful video, I loved it! So a 900kv,okay, that's a start. Can I be a pain and ask you if you could name a motor and battery,even prop size, it would save me a lot of time. I buy my stuff from HobbyKing most of the time.I fly 900kv on my 500, and can get about 10 -12 minutes from a 5000mah. (Converting it now for larger props for better flight times)
The lower the kv the longer the flight time will be, but know the max prop size for your 500 since it will be your limiting factor.
Here is a video from mine with 900kv.
Hi John the info from the guys is spot on , I fly a 700 quad on 650kv motors and they spin a 14x5.5 prop , and can go bigger but its getting to big to put any where when I get home lol
I've just been to Hobbyking and its there with all the information I need (probably not). I'll look at those you suggested, Thanks for you help.Thanks!
Do you have a link to the exact frame you have? I think 2216 800kv, 10x5 props, and 4s 5000mah would get you in the teens for flight times. Multistar 5200 4s 10c would probably be a good fit.
I LOVE that quadcopter of yours, if I win the lottery I'll get oneThanks!

I like the sound of this, I'll definitely have a look. So sorry to hear about your crash,I hope you managed to repair it.Here is my favorite reasonably priced combo for the size quad you are building;
SunnySky 2216 800kv motors. Virtually vibration free. Smooth, powerful and efficient
ZTW Spider 30A opto Small ESC's. Operate up to 600hz. Run cool. Plug and play. No programming. Only 11g
Castle Creations 10a UBEC. Very,very quiet. Adjustable voltage. Able to handle more than one device. Can wrap the leads around your antenna w/no problem
12 X 3.8 CF props, Rc timer on the lower end and Tiger Motor on the upper end.
If your arms can't support a 12" prop then use these;

You can get all this stuff from your favorite vendor. Ebay, Gearbest etc.
This combo is smooth flying with no jello. Perfect for video. On a 10c 5200mah 3s battery you can hover at a UAW of about 2100g and lift about 3600g at 100% and still get about 20-22 minutes flight time. I used this on a Reptile framed quad which was 1780g and I was at 27 minutes when my awesome flying skill caused it to hit a building. One more thing. This is so smooth with the T-Motor props that I had my camera wire tied solid to my frame. The video was perfect right up to the wall impact. Wish I had recorded it.
Haha! The crash was no ones fault but my own. All do to my legendary(read; mediocre) piloting skills. All that stuff is going on a 470 I'm in the middle of building. I have another Reptile style frame I'm modifying to a 620 with 3508 KV380 motors swinging 15x5.5 props. I keep changing my mind on parts of the design. Oh well.I like the sound of this, I'll definitely have a look. So sorry to hear about your crash,I hope you managed to repair it.
