Reversing controls on an X5C and hovering questions

I'm new to this and having a ball! Ive got about an hours worth of flight time on my Syma x5c. I've tried to take a selfie with the camera. The only way I can figure to do is to turn the bird around so that the camera's pointing at me. This means the rear of the bird is facing me which effectively reverses the flight controls. That creates havoc trying to maintain control. Is there a quick way to reverse the controls on the transmitter? Or an I approaching the task entirely wrong.

How do you get the thing to hover without constantly having to use the control stick?

Looking forward to any and all help. Thanks. Jim

I dont know about that model, but just play with it some more. It's down to practice, you'll get the hang of it soon enough.
As for hovering, make sure your a little higher so your out of the really dirty air, away from walls etc.

When you see those expensive quads sitting in one spot motionless they arent really doing this with the stick and have what is called GPS hold or something like that.

Any quad without this is pretty much going to require playing with the throttle to keep it hovering as steady as possible.

You have a great entry level quad with the SYMA X5C...dont expect it to be as good as more advanced hobby grades and just have fun with it.

What i like is the more difficult something might be to fly, the better you will learn control...None of my toy quads will sit like a good dog in one spot...Just have fun with it.

Go on YouTube, do a YT search for quadcopter101. Go to his channel and he runs some "how to fly " vids. The problem you have found is just part of RC aircraft flying and it takes a lot of practice to reverse your thinking, it's not much point trying to come with alternative....if you go forward and turn back on yourself, left become right as you look at the approaching craft.
Remember the direction signals always relate to the front of the quad.
If you have Apple iPad or iPhone ...not dure about android...I dont have...do search in the App Store for RealFlight it's a free app, but the quad is an in app purchase about $3 or so...it's quite realistic and when you crash it.... You restart ....no bits to pick up?
