Retract not working

slowllllly making progress on my tarot 650s build and I just hooked up the retracts for the first time. I hooked the servi cable from the retract controller to the gear location of the receiver. Initially nothing was happening so I flipped the sevo cable end on the receiver from top to bottom and got a response. I tempoarily soldered the power cable from the retract controller directly to the distribution board. Parallel to one of the esc.

MyProblem is either only 1 leg will function at a time or, more often, neither won't function at all. You just hearing a clicking sound and then nothing. The light on the retract controller flashes when I hit the switch. Am I doing something wrong or are the retracts defective.

Hi mate, can you see the linkage for the retracts, make sure they are adjust right and not going over center, in same transmitters you can adjust the throw of the retracts, by adjusting the end points of the channel your are using, if it throws to far it may push the link over center and get stuck

I just opened them up and that's exactly the problem. I turned the linkage by hand and had to give it a decent amount of force to get it loose from the retracted position. I have a DX8 but don't really have any experience with it. Do you know if I can adjust the throw with it.

Hi mate well there is 2 ways .if you can run it off a servo channel you can go into servo travel and limit the travel, (EPA) end point adjustment
You should still be able to limit the aux channel I will have a look at my DX9 and come back to you
Found it go into servo set up then select the channel so that will be gear , then adjust the travel at each end so it can move the retracts to where you want them with no binding and no over throw
in here you can also make them slower or faster by adjusting the servo speed
its page 22 of the manual too
