Recently i built a small racing style drone and i have found that where i live is much to windy to actually have fun flying it as i spend most of my time fetching out of trees or fixing props. I have noticed that all of the high end pre-built quads have altitude and more importantly position holding. I was wondering if it were possible to add this to the current system ( AfroFlight Naze32 Rev5 Acro) or if it would require me to replace the flight controller completely, in which case and good/cheap recommendation would be greatly appreciated
You wouldn't be able to ad anything to the Rev5 Acro, as it only has accelerometer. If you go up to a Rev6, it has a barometer for altitude hold, GPS capabilities. However, the Naze only have F1 processors, whereas most of the new wave of FCs are F3 with much faster processing. SPRacing F3 Evo is a good example, it does it all. http://www.getfpv.com/flight-controllers/sp-racing-f3-evo-flight-controller.html
Ok so i would need a GPS dongle as well i assume, any recommendations with them and would it be plug and play or do i have to load a different program onto the flight controller (sorry pretty newbie i know )
