I just got this Sharper Image DX-5 live streaming video drone. I can't find the charge light on the drone that tells me when the drone is charged up. Other then that the drone works fine. It will sync up with the remote control transmitter. I did a control test on my work bench and the drone responds to the controls fine. I haven't downloaded the video app for my phone yet. But I am sure it will work also.

Good luck with it. I had the DX-2 and that lasted just over a month before a motor burned out. Was fun while it lasted tho.

Is there a light on the charging plug?

Replacing brushless motors is a fact of life, and not very difficult. They have a short lifespan, usually a few hours of actual flying time. There are a few very common sizes, they're cheap and usually readily available.

I am learning that now. The DX was a impulse buy because it was on sale, I hadn't even thought of the hobby. By time I met the guy who sparked my interest I scrapped it.

I like the Cx-30 because it's plug and play

You may still find you have fun with the brushless "toy" quads even after you own more sophisticated ones. I know I do.... I still bash around my Symas in the front yard and have a blast sometimes. And they're a lot easier and cheaper to fix than some of my other quads, too. :D

That's my.train of thought. Get to know how to work on the ones I have now (tempted to put a decent fc in one for shits anf giggles) so that I understand what I'm doing with the diy quad I picked up for cheap when I buy the missing parts.
