Question regarding Naze32 and FrSky Receivers

Hello,

i am wondering, since the interwebs is full of (partially contradicting) information - could anyone tell me exactly what FrSky Receiver to use, to be able to get telemetry on the Taranis X9D Plus?

As background, i'm building a 250 quad (first rc build ever) - i got a DX7S for my helicopters, and plan on getting a X9D Plus. That's the radio i want to use for the quad, but i'd like to get some telemetry data as well (mainly battery-related), but apparently the bundled X8R Receiver doesn't really work with my Naze32 Acro, does it?

Others suggested using a FrSky D4R-II, but at this point, i'm simply lost. The more i read, the less i understand/more i forget :(

Could someone explain to me in simple words, what i need to buy/use to get what i'd like?

Cheers,
Rene

Well FPV is planned, but not right from the start - have to get comfortable with flying generally first, before i step it up with FPV.

I do understand that OSDs would basically do what i want, but as i said - i wanna feel comfy flying first before FPV.

Yes that is the best way to fly the only thing with telemetry is having to look down at the transmitter , does the transmitter not have a timer
