Question on Batteries

Proud owner of a new MJX X101 Quadcopter. Man this thing is a blast! I had a question regarding upgrading batteries. Currently equipped is a 7.4v 1200 mAh lipo battery. While this thing does get me great power I wanted to know how to go about making sure an upgraded battery will work for my quad and subsequently not explode my bird in the sky, lol. Is it simply finding a battery with 1500 or 2000 mAh? Does my voltage need to change? Battery connectors the same as I upgrade?

Many questions and much thanks in advance.

Voltage has to the same as does the connector and polarity. Your biggest challenge will be the size of a larger battery (fatter/wider), is the original a tight fit? Is there an easy way to make more room and so on.

Measure what you got and compare it to this (there are more choices.)

That looks damn near the same as mine and uses the same connectors. Yes the 1200 mAh I have now is a snug fit, but I'm crafty enough to make the current carrier work for a slightly bigger battery. Thanks for the link. I would like to find and even bigger batter option for me, using that voltage and connectors.

I'm just thinking ahead. Nothing has changed and I still fly this thing multiple times a day when I have time. I was just thinking if I ever upgraded to a much bigger battery and thus needing more powerful motors to run her. This is just the way my brain works when I fall into hobbies and I get very excited. I will just enjoy the awesome rig I have right now and not worry as much about the next upgrade. Thanks for all the help!
