Quadcopter for fishing?

Hey guys!

I'm new here and not sure if I'm posting in the right area but I really hope I can get some help because I cant seem to find much on the internet. I'm looking to buy a quad copter for general leisure, some videoing, but also to use as a bait transporter when fishing. The idea is to attach the bait to an arm which can be remotely opened to release the bait, however, I don't know what quad copter to buy? How much do I need to pay to get a quad copter that can lift 1 - 2 kg? My budget is probably $600 - $1200 AUD. A couple that I'm looking at but am not sure about are as follow:

I really have no clue about quad copters and any help/information is greatly appreciated. Advice and options on what the best quad copters are for this type of use is very helpful!!
Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard,ShadS! Interesting idea you have there but 1 to 2 kg of bait could feed a family of four! Haha!
You should consider getting a cheap, ready to fly quad to learn on. You will crash. A lot. Better to replace parts at a couple dollars each than at $100.00 each. My favorite little trainer is the Syma X5C 1. You can buy one with extra props, batteries and common crash parts for around $ 80.00. It flies just like the larger quads which makes it such a great trainer. Not twitchy like many of the others.
When you think you have that mastered jump back on the forum and we'll help you pick something that will do what you want. I don't think either of the two you are looking at would do a good job dropping bait.
Here is one example of what might work better for you;

https://store.3drobotics.com/products/iris

It is very rugged and comes with a whole host of unique features. There are almost limitless ways to customize this quad to suit your needs. It is a bit larger and more powerful than your other choices. There are other choices along these lines as well.
Please don't hesitate to post questions or ask advice on the forum. The members and mods are pretty darn amazing and we all just LOVE to spend other peoples money!! Hahaha!

Thanks for your very friendly and welcoming reply and info! I have had some experience with a dromida ominus quad copter which I am quite good at flying, so i do understand the basics and controls. The 3drobotics quad copter you have listed looks good and so does the price tag!! But it says a payload of 400 grams or .8 lbs, I think i would need around 1 kg of lifting force to carry a mullet, line, hook and sinker if I was fishing for a shark. Thanks a lot for the knowledge and options!! Keep it coming! :)

Ahhhh..... now I get it. You can always put bigger motors and props on the Iris. Or...... Check these out;

Or, if you really want to blow your budget;

The first one would be easy to boost the power on if you wanted and it looks like you designed it!! It can already handle 1400g payload. Take off weight is 50% throttle with 900g payload but who reads directions? We're guys! We don't need no stinkin' load advice....Hahaha!!
This should give you something to think over. Have fun!

Wow, that SwellPro drone looks amazing, especially with its release mechanism and water resistance!! Do you know of any other drones similar to the SwellPro? Cheers!

There is actually a video of a heli or quad catching an actual fish and lifting it to dry land..Wish i remembered where it was .

The fish I intend to catch are a bit too large for any quad copters to catch. I just need it to be able to transport a 1kg package 100m over the ocean and drop it.
