quadcolter battery modification

Hi
I have quadcopter typeu817a with battery 500mAh.
I put Nokia battery type BL-5C with 3.7v and 1020mAh after taking out the electronic card inside it to prevent the over current protection. But it doesn't run the quad only for 4 or 5 seconds.
Any one have idea why.
Maybe it is expires??
Any solutions to upgrade the battery
 
Hi mate it need a lipo battery not a Lithium-Ion to upgrade your need a lipo 3,7v and with a higher mah than stock
 
Sounds like the battery was bad or removing the card kept it from charging.
Lith-ion or lipo , it should have run for alot more than 4-5 secs.

The Li io doesn't work when the electronic card connected.therefore I removed it to stop over current protection.
Also the battery was new and fully charged but it doesn't work for 5 seconds.
It seems that li po give discharge current higher than li io .
 
I won't dispute that lipo is the far superior amperage battery but lithium-ions do work
as my son's giant Syma X6 came with them.

I don't know if the Turnigy nanotech 750 will fit your quad but it's one heck of a cell.
I got two today and the voltage and run time are great. I'd guess an easy 10 min. plus battery.
They discharged at 726 mah , held 4.0 v @3A for 45 sec and took 370 sec. to hit 3.7 volts.
The best I've found to fit into a Syma X5.

The 750mah battery has both a Syma stk and a JST pigtail on it.

Discharge specs ,, 750 nanotech battery - Discharge 726ma , 370 sec's to 3.7 volts. :) :)
600 nanotech battery - Discharge 570ma , 225 sec's to 3.7 volts
650 upgrade battery - Discharge 582ma , 200 sec's to 3.7 volts " low voltage "
600 Tiger stick batt - Discharge 520 ma , 115 ! sec's to 3.7 volts
500 stk Syma battery- Discharge 482 ma, 190 sec's to 3.7 volts

These were all charged at a 2C rate and a 3 Amp discharge to a cut off voltage of 3.30 volts.

The Turnigy 750 nanotech is the clear choice if you want the highest run time and flight power "voltage " BUT you may get frustrated with the tight fit.

I'll still say as I have before that the 500 stock Syma batteries are great for a 500 mah cell.

Hi mate what we are missing is, some quads motors are brushless they need lipo, some are coreless can run on Lithium-Ion

I understand ,,, this was just a generic lipo test on a few misc cells. Lipo's usually have a higher amperage ability.

Ha Ha Ha ,,,,,,,,,You'd have to ask Gagawy who started the thread.

Maybe a quad with a machine gun ???


But a comment in regards to the thread topic is that just because a battery may have a mah rating of over 1000
doesn't mean it will have any power. Those phone style batteries couldn't power one quad motor.
There is just NO amperage or C rating to do that.
