Quad Flipping Over

Hello,

Having problems with the Pixhawk on a F450 frame with 10x5 props. I am using the 'R' labelled prop on the CCW motors. So the F450 is an 'X' frame type. First arm the motor is set to go CCW, together with the prop labelled 'R'. The next arm is CW so has a prop without the 'R'. Third is CCW again (opposite the first CCW arm) with the 'R' and the last arm is CW so again no 'R'.

The result, the frame tips and causes a crash as soon as the thrust is increased for take off. I have tried reversing so using the 'R' props go on the CW, this causes a failure to take off even at maximum throttle. I guess it reverses the air flow.

The writing is on the top of the blades (ie 10x5(R)). I have tried reversing so fitting blades with writing on the underside.

Does 'R' stand for reverse?

The acelerometer and compass are calibrated.

Thanks

Stuart

HI mate the motors are wrong looking at quad from behind so front is facing away from you
Front left cw front right ccw , back left ccw back right cw
the R on the props is what you said reverse so
front left cw normal prop, front right ccw R prop
back left ccw R prop back right cw normal prop
this will sort the problem out its a common mistake ,the easy way to remember is the front 2 turn towards each other the back 2 turn away from each other

Hi,
Thanks, yes this is exactly how I have configured it. It'd got bag of thrust, can easily lift the weight of the drone. Its pulling instead of pushing and I dont know why.

I have taken a picture and overlaid which motors are CCW and CW. The CCW have the props marks 'R'
The writing on the props is face up (facing up to the sky)

Hi mate if the motors are right which they are then its the board ,check to make sure its an X quad not a+,also check its balanced its look like the weight is front and right is that the FCB right at the front , if it is move it to the centre of the quad so move the battery put it under the quad facing front to back , lots of the FCB need to be in the middle as the gyro see the movement too much forward
