Quad build compatibility check

Hello everyone,

This is my second quad build as my first one flew away for some reason... I am a bit of a noob still.
I am trying to build this second quad to be leaner and faster than the old one with a 4s lipo on it.

How does this list look? Are the motors and escs up for the task of 4s? I plan to use gemfan 5040 props. Are the motors big enough (or too big) for the kind of punch I'm looking for? Please give me tips or anything you think would be helpful. This is my first post here so I apologize for any mistakes I have made in terms of forum rules.

Thank you,

Thank you for your reply,
Is a 2206 size motor too big for the weight? I don't plan to over-prop so I'm not sure of the torque required. Also, does a motor's cell rating really hard enforced? Or can a motor that says 2-3s run a 4s battery? My budget is very small as I just lost about 250 dollars to the sky... Could you suggest a cheaper battery?

Thanks,

Lower kv means more lift and bigger props, higher kv means less lift, but it will be more responsive and faster.

If you got this you'd need a BEC Here are some motors that will do 4S

Thank you for your reply,
When you say lower kv, bigger props I assume you are saying that in terms of amp draw? The way I understand it (and please correct me if I'm wrong) is that lower kv means the motors spin slower, allowing for a bigger prop to produce more thrust but not more amp draw. Therefore higher kv means smaller props (in both pitch and length) but then more spin up? I was told that it is the torque that allows for higher spin up rates and "punching." What is the relationship between kv, torque, and punching ability?

Thank you in advance for the response to the noob questions,

Thanks for your reply,
Are there any escs you recommend? This is pushing my budget a bit, as I don't want to go above 275. Would the original setup work? I have seen some youtube videos of this build functioning with 4s. Is this maybe not super healthy, but do-able with the original parts?

Thanks,

Are you fine with 3S? I suppose it would work as long as the ESCs would do 4S, but not long and a crash could be costly with a motor failure.

Thanks for the fast reply.
How much gain in power and speed do I get with 4s over 3s? I know that the original BLHELI escs supported 2-4s. How long is not long?

Thanks,

Depends how you fly it, if you were to hold the throttle full for a few seconds you could burn them up as they would be doing more than designed, 4S vs 3S is a few volts, and kv means RPMs per volt.

They look fine, you also get an extra in case.

This chart shows that they only draw 10.7 amps with the 5040s but at 14.8. How about a fully charged 4s?

Thank you for your reply,
I know, when I said 14.8, I was referring to the volt input. What I was wondering is that if the 5040 props draw less than 12 amps on 14.8 volts input, what would be the amp draw on a fully charged 4s?
Thank you,
