Powerextra Battery issue.

I bought a Powerextra battery on AMAZON for my Phantom 3 standard. About half price of DJI. So there is my motivation. :p

Problem is that the DJI app shows an error.

"broken cell"

Original DJI battery does not have the error.

In working with vendor, I have now tried 3 of their batteries. All have same error.

I have flown one of the batteries no issues.

Anyone have any experience or thoughts on Powerextra batteries??

Thanks

I just bought a 2 pack off Amazon this week. I made sure they fit and locked into my P3s, then put them on the charger for a short while. Had 3 LED's and decided to unplug them and installed them to set the "Smart" function, and while using the DJIGo app., I noticed on the battery page, it showed the "broken cell" prompt. Pulled batt. and fully charged it. Reinstalled said batt. and all the cells showed full "green" levels and "broken cell" message was gone. Haven't flown with them yet, so I hope all will be well. Moral of the story, charge the batteries completely/fully and all should be fine. Hope this helps. HB:)

Glad it worked out for you.

I have now tried 3 batteries from them. Full Charge, discharge, tried it all. Still have the same "broken cell" error. I actually flew the last one with no issues.

So I am waiting on there "engineering support"

Hope you have luck with Tech. support. I must have been lucky, because I had bought 1 other Powerextra batt. prior to these two, and it also worked flawlessly. Anyways, good luck! HP:)

As these are "smart" batteries, I wonder if they need a firmware update. Just thinking out loud..........

I have communicated with them a dozen times. No mention of any "updates". I will send an email.

Not sure how possible that would be though, being DJI Quad and DJI software and app.

I actually have it in the back of my mind that DJI has created this problem because it's not their battery. Which cost 2x as much.

Thanks
