Phantom 3 or TBS Discovery?

Hi all

So I have been learning to fly a Hubsan X4 and am ready to graduate to something more powerful. Want it for camera work but also fancy some FPV. Had my mind made up on a TBS Disco as it seemed a nice frame and stable, also like the way the wiring is integrated into the board.

Then the Phantom 3 comes along and all of a sudden I'm undecided again! I have the chance to buy one in Hong Kong which will be cheap.

Interested to hear your opinions

Cheers

Hi mate I do like the phantoms they fly well , but what makes me mad is that the phantom 1 has a normal 2200mah 3 cell battery and are cheap to buy , but now the phantoms have a special battery at 4 times the price £180 ,that is so over the top,I hunted every where for the phantom 1
The TBS DISCO, is a really nice machine looks good even better in your hands and flies on a normal battery, this would make me buy it
Phantom if it was the phantom1, but now get the TDS disco

Hi,

Yeah I know what you mean, they are taking advantage a bit. The thing that makes the Phantom 3 appealing though is the additional tech, like the funky optical stability sensor underneath.

Hadn't considered the battery thing so will think about it some more - thanks :)

Hi mate would you really use the sensor, and how low do you need to be for it to work , the TBS if built right will be very stable any way GPS and baro will hold height and position , I think its a gimmick mate

Would probably only use the sensor indoors where there's no GPS, can't see my flying indoors that much anyway. Leaning back towards the Disco now so all good :)
