phantom 3 and samsung s5

When flying the phantom 3 would it be better to use flight mode on the samsung s5. I was thinking that phone calls and messages could interfer with the flight.

Yes it does cut wifi. What is wifi needed for ? It says in the manual to connect the phone to the controller with a usb power lead so i thought it would get its comunication to the quadcopter through the lead. I might ask the question direct to phanton website.. where in the uk are you neil.. we are in sheffield.
 
Hi mate sorry been on holiday ,they may have changed it but they used to use Wi-Fi to link , Ok I have it sorted for you put phone on plane mode this stops all outside signals the USB lead will still work so you have FPV , if you dont do this a call or tx will kill signal to the FPV image
