On Balancing Motors

No, we're not going to take apart our motors and balance them internally, but we can still balance them to reduce vibration. Those of you who fly the "big quadCs" and take videos it is very important and helps to eliminate "jello". For those of us who fly the pea shooters it can add to our quadCs longevity - yeah, I know, they don't cost all that much, but they do sound nicer too Here's how:

If one takes the time to watch the videos, in spite of the title page that some don't care for, then one will see the evidence that motor balancing does work. I can recall when the auto racers at the Indianapolis 500 criticized the European cars with their highly balanced engines, and guess who ended up winning, and guess who started balancing their engines? It's all history.

I have no axe to grind with anyone. The evidence is there. The wise man/woman will take heed

Sorry, but I've never had a motor that needed balancing. However, if my video had jello after prop balancing, the next place I'd look is the motors.

I got as far as where he said the first thing remove the motor label. Really? First thing would be to check the balance.

Manufacturers actually use the stickers to balance motors before shipping. A little bird told me so
