Noob Emax Hawk Pro binding issues

Hi guys, possibly noobiest question on here, but does anyone know where the bind button on an Emax Hawk Pro is?

Binding instructions simply say "press the bind button"to bind, but no pictures of where the bind button is. I found a button that says "boot", but probably not that. Also found a button that says "button" but I think it's the VTX.

Not being able to find the magic button that makes happiness happen is giving me flashbacks of senior year high school :(

Any help from the pros here is greatly appreciated.

Hey so dunno on that specific one but there is/are some bind commands you can use at the CLI of betaflight to get it into binding mode I think with latest betaflight configurator there is a button in the receiver tab to get it into binding mode as well. Most of the modern receivers allow some serial communication that can put them in binding mode so I've been using that lately to avoid the issue of not having three hands.

Cool, thanks again for the quick response Wafflejock! I'll check online to see if there's a cli script for my model.

I've become adept at plugging in batteries with my teeth, but I do appreciate progress.

Unfortunately couldn't do the binding on betaflight. Tried # frsky_bind, and #bind_rx_spi, but no dice.

Maybe my flight controller isn't an SPI?

I actually emailed Emax, so hopefully if they can show me where I can post it on here (although with my luck it's probably somewhere obvious).

Yah I think it depends on how updated your firmware is cause they merged them into a single bind_rx command I think but not sure which version it changed in, could be the receiver doesn't support it but I have a tiny hawk 2 and works on that one. Definitely post back if you hear back from emax or guess the right incantation.

If feeling adventurous can try flashing to new version but you'll need to find the right target and probably want to save a "diff" and current version of firmware

Shout out to emax for their amazing customer service!

For reference purposes, the bind button is circled in red
