newbie

hi folks, I've not long been into quadcopters, bought a q4 to start with and then moved to a syma x5c. But want to progress further now as I really want to move onto out door photography with a quad, what's the next best model to go for? Looking at something with gps and able to carry a gopro...but what's not going to break the bank?

Hi mate welcome to the forum if you want a top RTF quad then the DJI Phantom 1 , is getting cheap now as they need to sell them on as every one wants the Phantom 2 or the inspire , The Phantom 1 runs on normal 2200 mah battery , so they are cheap to run flight time is about 10/15 mins it has the full Naza M with GPS , its easy to fly as it has IOC so you dont need to learn nose in flying ,so its a good all round package that every one else has copied will do every thing you ask from it and a little more , then when you upgrade the gopro gimbal to a brushless the servos plug into the Naza M , Now if you make sure your get the version 1.1.1 this has a camera control on the transmitter so you can tilt the camera in flight , there are cheaper but are they as good

I have looked at the f450, I dont mind building one and quite confident soldering and putting the components together. What sort of price is the phantom 1 now?

He is a good dealer after sale is second to none ,I use him all the time if you order before 3pm your have it next day

Hi Steve he does not tell you much , the motors are the cheap 2212 the main shafts bend easy in a crash, the frame you can get direct from hobby king uk warehouse for £8, What a lot of these sellers do is buy in from HK then put a mark up on the price and sell on ebay, its not bad for the price but you can do it your self cheaper

Well Steve if it was me I would go all DJI , this will give you the same spec as the Phantoms , and is cheaper to buy direct from them , they use the E system , its not going to be cheap , but at the end of the day your have a top spec quad , with proven parts that will work together well , even the dji transmitter will give you a gimbal control and if you have the full naza M your have , IOC , course lock, home lock, return home mode (fail safe)
25 mins flight time with the weight of a camera , height hold ,position hold ,take a look
