Newbie with Potensic T18 - advice needed?

Hi all, newbie to this forum and drones here!
I have bought and am playing with a Potensic T18 and apart from initially struggling with how to calibrate the compass(?), am enjoying it....but I have a few questions:
1. Do I need a licence?
2. I can't seem to find any literature about the 'ceiling' for how high I can take it?
3. I have tried the 'Return home' thing - bloomin' amazing....but will it navigate, say, through a gap in trees that I fly it through on the way 'out', so to speak?
4. Is there a danger of flying it 'out of range'?

Sorry for the questions,

It really depends on what country you're from but in general any drone weighing over 250 grams needs to be licenced.

In most countries, the height ceiling is 400 feet.

RTH is a straight line thing however you need to read your manual as there are many settings. But if you're asking if it will return on the same path that it went out on, then no. Although there are some craft that have obstacle avoidance. As I said, check your manual you should be able to set your RTH to a preset height. I have mine set so that on activation of RTH, they climb to a height of 40 metres before returning. This way, I know it's higher than any obstacles it may encounter.

As for flying out of range, most drones are equipped with failsafes that the drone will automatically RTH upon signal loss or low battery. Again, this will be detailed in the manual

Welcome to the forum and happy flying
