Newbie to quads...GPS Question

Ok, I have the FlySky 9 and its matching receiver that is supposed to have the ability for GPS...
what is the definitive easiest to set up, and learn Gps system out there??.
I REALLY dont want to have to spend endless hours dorking around with a system to get it to work...I have enough aggravation in my life.
I would LIKE a true Plug And Play unit...if there is such a thing.
Thanks for any help...in advance
Kim

Hi Kim and welcome aboard! What are you flying and what flight controller do you have? The GPS will either be part of the flight control board or an add on module. Tell us everything about your quad you can and I'm sure the members here can help you. I am a huge fan of low hassle, plug and play as well so I have some suggestions depending on what all you have.

Hi Kim is money is not a problem then one of the best is the Naza M not the lite but the full M has loads of flight asssit like Home lock/Course lock/atti/GPS/ return home and land

As far as what Im flying...well Im still under construction of a 250 racer. Its nothing to write home to Mum about, all very standard...since I thought that I would get my beak wet, then upgrade as I go, if needed.
I have purchased a upgraded FlySky 9, and its rechargeable battery from BangGood (my first purchase from them), as well as a GoPro clone from Amazon.
Ive been flying Nitro, and racing Tamiya for a while, and was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable parts for Quads are ...especially compared to RC Subs that I also have several of.
As far as GPS...it seems a fairly good insurance policy, since hopefully the unit wont wing its way off to OZ, or take a nosedive into the Ceement Pond during a Battery outage. Every day on Kijji, there are people looking for wayward drones that "were last seen on a Southwesterly course over the Amazon Rain Forest towards Piggly-Wiggly"...or some such destination.

Looking at the Naza M, while its complete, its a bit pricey for my blood....anything else a bit less dear??? remember, Im in canada...I get dinged for shipping and DUTY as well (grumble,,, grumble)

I also guess that I should be asking the best OnBoard Flight Controller that will run ok by itself, but will allow for future expansion of a GPS unit.

Hi mate some board will run of sat receivers but these are normally spektrum or Futaba , all FCB can be wired for a standard receiver which what you have , Nothing wrong with this just more wires to have on the quad ,if you wire it up get it all working right , then if you want to put some hot glue on the plugs to make sure they dont come off , I try and protect the FCB so the plugs dont get ripped off in a crash there are many ways to do this even a small tupper ware box will work

Hi Kim the Naza M is what is fitted to all the Phantoms , works really well GPS hold will keep it where you put it till the battery runs out , the fail safes if set up right are better than alot out there , it has turn home and land ( I have test this even in very strong wind will land a foot from where it took off from ) HL home lock if the quad is say just a dot in the sky and you dont even know what way round it is if you put it in home lock and hold cyclic down it will come back to you , CL course lock works like this you set the phantom off in a direction you want you can now spin the quad to point any way you want but it will still travel in the direction you first set it off in, in the Naza assist you can set height and range
This is also where you turn on IOC mode this is headless mode so forward on the transmitter is always forward on the quad , watch these videos this will show you how good it really is , first video will show you how good GPS lock is , second how good the fail safe is

Thanks a lot, that really helps. I will post pics as I begin to assemble...as Im still waiting for parts to come in
