Newbie question about batteries

Hi I hope this isn’t too much of a dumb question but.....
My drone has a 3.7v 500mah LiPo battery can I replace this for a 3.7v 1500mah LiPo battery to increase the flight time?

I am a totally newbie to drones and most things electrical lol thanks in advance

In theory yes, but in practice it's more complicated than that.

The additional weight of the bigger battery will eat into your flight time so you may not see much increase, if any. There's a point of diminishing returns. And you're talking about a battery that is THREE TIMES as large, so the quad may even have a hard time just getting off the ground. It certainly won't fly as intended with that kind of extra weight.

Also I'm not aware of any 1s batteries that large so I assume you are talking about building your own by using three 500mah in parallel. Then you've got to figure out how to fit them to the quad.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense I guess I’m sticking with what I’ve got
Again, what do you have?
Just because I ginormous battery will not work does not mean you could not get better flight times and performance with a moderately more powerful battery than you have. Just going from a 500mah to 600-700mah will make a noticeable difference.

I only have a VR SHOT it’s a nice easy quad to operate but the flight time was very poor I managed to get more time from losing the camera didn’t want to have to buy a load of separate batteries to get a few hours of fun out of it

Hey that's cool lookin! Couldn't find a shot of the battery compartment which is what will limit the battery size if you not modding it.

The stock battery looks like 500mah. I can't see the connector, but it's most likely to be a micro Losi connector. If so, you can find 650mah and 720mah versions pretty cheap and depending on where the battery goes, they will probably fit. Do some Amazon searches and compare connectors.
