So I've built quadcopter in robotics, but I have never flown one.

On a lark I bought a striker from world tech toys and it is a piece of doodoo. I can't get the transmitter to sync to the bot.

So, I'm looking for a new 'beginner to intermediate ' quadcopter, someone suggested the syma x5c

Is that a good one? Any and all advice or recommendations are appreciated

Thanks you

You made the right choice.

The X5C-1 is (in my opinion) the very best beginner quad and training quad.
I have a DJI Phantom but you know what? I fly the X5C-1 more than the Phantom.

I carry it with me everywhere. Even in the trunk of my scooter.
If I come across a place where I want an aerial view, I just pop the X5C-1 out and up into the sky she goes.

Very stable, very forgiving and a great flying drone.
That it comes with a pretty doggone good 2MP camera to boot is just icing on the cake.

Go slow and really learn to fly it. With practice, you'll soon be flying like a pro.
Get used to hovering first. Then nose out flight near you then gradually increase the nose out distance and confidence. Once you are confident flying nose out, begin to learn to fly nose In (facing you). With a little practice you'll find nose in flying as easy as nose out.

Once you get that down, next learn how to change the orientation of the copter in flight maintaining control. And once you have that down, you're ready for practicing the long distance orientation training skill best described on YouTube by Quadcopter101

ENJOY!
