Ive been ordering ALOT of items lately for numerous quad projects and, thought id share this one..Still waiting for the parts but, heres the plan.

Walkera LadyBird main frame
Walkera LadyBird canopy
3x3mm carbon booms
Udi U816 motor holders
Hubsan 7mm hollow cup motors
Bayang X9 Flight control board.
JJRC1000 props or optional Hubsan X4 props
Udi 240mah battery. (Optional 320mah)
Controlled by Bayang X9 TX.

This should be a quite fun and capable little flyer..Ill post up pics and build progress once i have everything.

Im after a very stable yet sporty flyer...The bayang x9 board is one of the most stable boards ive used so far and yet has very sporty programming from the board in high rates....I hope the characteristics remain in tact using this board on this hybrid build which will be bigger and heavier...Quad size should be around 120mm and weigh about 32 to 33g.

I was going to get started with some of the assembly but i cant find my 3x3 carbon booms:mad:

Still waiting for parts in any case.:(
 
What is the total cost of materials by your estimate? I have two quads, hubsan X4 and a custom built QAV210. I kinda want something in between as a FPV and rate mode trainer and something I can fly indoors.
 
Considering i already had alot of the items on the list, not very much at all...The frame was $4.50...the bayang x9 FCB was $9.00...new hubsan 7mm motors i got 2 new complete sets for $6.50

I already have the bayang x9 quad so im just using that controller..Props i already had on hand..the batteries..the carbon booms and motor holders and even canopy....So for me the project is costing about $20.00
 
I made a slight change with the motor holders...All im waiting for now is the Bayang X9 FCB to show up.

Im at 19.7g with the frame and motor assemblies..The battery and beetle canopy adds another 9.1 grams for a total so far of 28.8g

I received the bayang X9 FCB...even though i have some props ,they have been installed before on other quads and id rather slip on some new ones for the tightest fit possible so, im going to wait patiently for the new props...I did find a new look i like though :)..Maybe a black X9 body would look good as well and the bright green version..Sigh..time to buy more stuff.

I managed to get the weight of the X9 FCB..A whole 2.5g of greatness...What i also like is where the motor wire soldering locations are...They are under the board and easily accessible...This will make a for a very clean install and not have wires soldered all over the top of board with different lengths to reach the soldering points...Motor wires will all come from the sides at even lengths...another surprise was the bayang X9 canopy weighs in a .8g and the beetle canopy is 1.2g...I may may end up below my estimated weight range which is nice.

Keep in mind the weight of 19.7g for the frame and motors installed is with ALOT of excess wire that wont be there.

Ive been busy working other projects so havent done the wire trimming and soldering just yet but ,did get in my new Hubsan X4 props and installed them so, a little bit of progress here.

Looks like it's coming along nicely! I actually started my micro FPV build last week. Currently waiting on a 3D printed frame that a friend is mailing to me. I am planning on using a custom built FC with an atmega328p and MPU6050 running MultiWii 2.4. I am hoping to get my weight down to around 60-70 grams including the FPV gear. I actually picked up some carbon booms the other day so I might try building one similar to this next!
 
I have yet to get into the custom flight boards...Some of these toy boards are pretty nice...This bayang x9 board has some impressive components to it...Some of which you find on custom boards.
