New 9x. I'm still waiting for my parts in to build my quad. So i decided i would follow a youtube video and try it out on my Syma. I hold down the bind button, turn on the controller. It just turns on as normal. I checked the connection to back sure the module is plugged in. All is well. I have not changed any settings on the controller. I've only browsed menus while reading the manual and watching youtube videos. Is there anything I can do to make it go into bind mode? Or did i get a bum transmitter

Was really lookin forward to getting this thing up in the air this upcoming week.

Welcome to the forum....

I do not have the same radio and not really able to help you.
I am curios about the Turnigy radios in general - when you mention "The module" I take it this module includes the Syma protocol who allows it to bind with the radio?

I opted to buy a TGYi10 mainly because the 9x series always seems to need more than one module - granted I do not fully understand them and what is needed.
It was just the thought of more and more outgoing$$$ on a radio.

You better check around I think the X1 is the one that is mentioned, it did bind to it at least in the past. But there may have been a Syma PCB revision.

Ya but the problem is the controller won't initiate the bind mode. So regardless of the drone I'm not getting the opportunity to try to bind any. I'm wondering if the module it came with is is bad. It came installed. I found lots of post where people had problems with it going into bind mode. But none out of the box. I haven't changed any settings. It simply won't boot into bind so I can try connecting to anything. Bummer: ( i hope hobbypartz.com has good support.

Yes. Also have an x5c here and the 3 for the kids. But I can't get it to go into bind mode to get past step one and try it. I got a dud don't I?

I assume most of the RTF you had before you got involved with the TS issues - have their own radio - so are flyable.

As I said earlier... I opted out of any interest in the 9X series - because of its need for modules - granted that need only arises IF you want to fly something that requires the new module... if you follow that.
From what I read in forums those likely to be involved in multi type quads - planes Helis etc,. - will have more than one radio so does it make sense having modules for.. whatever!
I also built an opinion that if you by Turnigy - you are tied to HobbyKing and RCGroups for support. The HobbyKing forum is a waste of space IMO - I have made to requests/posts for advise/ info regarding the 9x series. In 6 weeks or more... not one reply! Seems to be a clicky old boys only place.

I am loath to pay over $100 to online stores - and although the FSi10 radio seems a better buy than the Turnigy TGYi10 - I bought it from HobbyKing on the basis that they can be trusted to supply - at least working items! Not so!
The simply Turnigy 5ch must have disapproved of only being used for gentle testing - and allowed the left stick to fall apart to stop me!
Contacted HK for info re a repair or purchase a replacement gimbal. Short store is they are not interested - unless you pay to send it them - pay to have it sorted and out and pay to have it returned - and no costs are know till they have it and examine. It cost $35 !
I am not going to get involved in a blind deal with HK.
In the end I stripped it down and found a spring retainer had little "grove" to bed the springs end loop and it slipped off. I replaced it added a spot hot glue and refitted it to a rocker arm... reassembled the radio..working find - all in 5 minutes!

I personally have this controller and you have to turn on your quad then hold the bind button and turn on your radio after 5-10sec release the bind button then turn off the quad and turn off the radio. Do everything I just said in that order. The flysky fs-TH9X doesnt really do anything to let you know ITE in bind mode (Kinda annoying). When binding to a fkysky receiver the receiver blinks then goes solid and that's how you know its bound but on the syma there's not really a good way to know.
